About this policy

StarShield Mounts respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and share personal information when you visit our website, buy from us, create or use an account, subscribe to marketing, or contact us. We manage personal information in line with Australian privacy requirements, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• your name, email address, phone number and postal address;
• billing, delivery, order, transaction and payment-confirmation information;
• customer account and order-history information;
• messages, support requests, reviews or other information you send us;
• marketing preferences; and
• website and device information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and interactions with our store.

Payment details are handled through Shopify and the payment providers available at checkout. StarShield does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you place an order, use an account, subscribe, complete a form or contact us. We also receive information through Shopify and service providers that help operate our store, process payments, deliver orders, provide support, measure website use, prevent fraud and deliver marketing. Website information may be collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we use it

We use personal information to process payments and orders; arrange delivery, returns and refunds; provide account and customer support; communicate about purchases; prevent fraud and protect our store; meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations; improve our products, services and website; understand store performance; and send marketing where you have consented or it is otherwise permitted.

Sharing and service providers

We share only the information reasonably needed with providers that help us run the business. These may include Shopify, payment providers, delivery and logistics providers, technology and hosting providers, analytics services, marketing platforms, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business transfer.

Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not disclose personal information for purposes unrelated to operating, supporting or lawfully marketing the StarShield business.

Overseas processing and disclosure

Shopify and some other service providers may process or store personal information outside Australia. Their locations and subcontractors can change, so it is not always practicable for us to list every country. Where Australian privacy requirements apply, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances when selecting and working with providers, and we consider their privacy and security arrangements. Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No system is completely secure. We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, order, support and dispute-resolution requirements, then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.

Access and correction

You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request a correction by emailing support@starshieldmounts.com.au or using our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain any lawful reason if we cannot provide access or make a requested correction.

Marketing

We may send marketing if you have subscribed or where otherwise permitted. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not stop service messages about your orders, account or support requests.

Cookies and website data

Our Shopify store and connected services use cookies and similar technologies for essential store functions, preferences, security, analytics and, where enabled, marketing. You can control cookies through your browser or available privacy controls, although blocking essential cookies may affect store functions. For a privacy question, access or correction request, or complaint, email support@starshieldmounts.com.au or use our Contact page. Please provide enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and investigate privacy complaints and aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
